Sunday in Singapore

Let's start with...it's hot. I have no idea why I showered this morning before I went out, because I'm soaked with sweat (nice thought, huh!) after being out a few hours. Oh well....

I took the train all by myself (well, almost all by myself, I had to call Bobby for some direction) and went to the business district to find my office. It is a HUGE building...but all the buildings here seem to be rather large. There are two buildings that are almost the same outside design as 801 Grand in Des Moines...ones's big and one's smaller.

I then brought the train back towards my apartment and decided to discover some more of the shopping areas. I mean to tell you, shopping is the national past time here. There are people everywhere and shops everywhere...the temptation is great to start buying, but I'm holding back so far...although I did try on some shoes and check out some purses today!

I was glad I decided to look around in this other area today because I found an AWESOME grocery store. It's called Cold Storage (just like the other one) but it's much bigger and closer to home. I was able to actually browse around today. It's odd...they have people standing in the aisles just to help you find things...it made me think of HyVee and "a smile in every aisle".

My luggage did finally arrive yesterday, but the lock was gone on one of the suitcases and much of my things were missing also. I called the airport today and have to file a claim. Unfortunately the claim takes up to a month to get processed....the worst part was I brought A LOT of hair products with me because I didn't know if I could find them, and those are some of the things that are missing. There's no Target or Walmart here, so finding these items is a bit tricky. I hope to get some suggestions from someone in the office tomorrow.

I am very excited to to go the office tomorrow and meet everyone. I'm planning on staying in tonight and getting a good night's rest in preparation for the start of the real adventure tomorrow!
