"I KNOW" AND THE RED DOT DESIGN MUSEUM

I just figured out something today...I have thought that when I was in conversation with someone here (a national) and I told them something and they responded "I know" that I was either bothering them or they truly knew. However, when I've heard "I know", it just didn't make sense that they could know. I was telling someone at work something to get assistance and she responded "I know"...so I thought I had bothered her. But today at the MRT train station a gentleman was looking at the MRT map and writing it all down. I knew there was a small map that fits in your wallet available at the MRT window, which we were right beside, so I told him. He responded "I know". I felt badly and though I had tried to be helpful, I felt like I was bothering him. About one minute later the same gentleman walked by me with the map in his hand and said "thank you". Ahhhhhh...."I know" is like us saying "I see" or "Oh, okay".....this will make things a whole lot better!!!!

I got on the train today and there were these things hanging from the bar in the train. I wasn't sure what it was, so I went to look....it was an advertisement flyer for A.I.G. I have seen people handing out advertisements along the road (on Orchard Road this is about every 300 yards it seems), but I have not ever seen these things hanging in the MRT. These were shaped similar to the door hangers you see at hotels that say "do not disturb". So interesting!

As I was walking along in the Chinatown area today I saw these "man hole covers" (not sure if that's what they are, but they are in the street and on the sidewalk) and are covering something....look at how decorative they are! Nothing like man hole covers in Iowa!!!

I took a walk through Chinatown and to the outer edge of Chinatown to the Red Dot Design Museum today. Here's the building...all red....very fun!

The display currently was "innovative designs for modern uses". There were many new things that we may or may not ever see. There were designs for lights, cellular phones, kitchen faucets, and then some really odd things....below you will see a picture of a Nose-Washing Machine....yep, a nose washing machine!!! I could not believe it.

And here are the details of the machine. What a hoot!!!

On my way home I took a different route. I came across this college...Michelle...I took this for you. Kaplan is even in Singapore!!!
