WAFFLES FOR DESSERT & ARTS AND CRAFTS

Today Sandy and I took off on the MRT looking for an outdoor open air market. We found one and enjoyed shopping through each stall. We saw some very beautiful clothing that many Muslims wear, as well as many, many food stalls (although, we avoided them because I can't stand the smells of everything there). It was very hot, and then when you are walking around a market area in close quarters, it gets even hotter!

So, we took off towards the mall area to cool off. Yesterday Lynn had taken me to this place called Waffle Factor, and Sandy I went there today...repeat customer! Waffles are dessert here, not a breakfast food. Here's a picture of my waffle.

In Iowa you would not find me ordering a waffle. I'm not fond of maple syrup and so I just don't have waffles. But, here's my waffle today....white chocolate with oreo crumbs...now, how can you possible go wrong this way? It was yummy!!!!!!!!

We had quite a few packages from our shopping at the outside open air market and were walking towards the MRT station when a double decker bus came by. I think Sandy said something about it and I said "let's hop on and see where it takes us". She's as spontaneous as I am, so onto the bus we went. We went to the top level and got the front two seats! It was nice to sit down! We really had no idea where we were going, just knew we were on an adventure....we were visiting and all of the sudden Sandy said "we need to get off now". I thought something had happened because it was such a sudden declaration. She quickly signaled the bus driver to stop at the next stop (you push a button) and we grabbed our bags and were heading down the stairs to get off at the next stop. When we got outside I asked what was up (this all happened within seconds)...she said "Oh, I just saw an Arts and Crafts place I want to go to". Geez, I thought something bad had happened. She had been to this store before and saw it, and wanted to stop. So off we went across the street. Arts and Crafts to someone from Iowa means wooden cut outs, ceramics, crotchet items etc....but that is absolutely NOT what it means here. Last month I went to an Arts and Crafts Fair that was very beautiful handiwork and very unique, but I didn't give it much thought until today when we went into this store. All the items were made in India and were absolutely beautiful!!!!

The first thing I saw when we walked in was this very cool circular wooden thing with drawers in it...the minute I touched it, I knew I had to have it. It was so heavy (sturdy for sure) and beautiful...I walked around the store looking at everything, but knew I would be taking that cabinet home with me so every time I look at it I will remember my time in Singapore.

Here's a picture of the cabinet...

And here I opened a drawer just so you could see what that looked like. I love it, love it, love it!
