This is a fountain (yeah, I know, it doesn't look like a fountain, but it is) along Orchard Road. It is absolutely beautiful, especially at night like tonight.
Over by Tanglin Mall there is this sign that says "Uniquely Singapore". I've seen it a whole bunch of times as I've been on a bus going by this building and last night I took a walk down there to take this picture specifically. Uniquely Singapore is the tourism theme here!
I was standing on a walkway across a busy street and snapped this picture of a bus stop. It probably doesn't mean a thing to you, but it makes me smile. I've spent a lot of time at bus stops in Singapore!
Same walkway...just a view of the traffic.
This is the U.S. Embassy in Singapore.
There is new construction all over this city. Just down the street is a new shopping center going in called "Orchard Central". When I got here it was barely a shell. It's now this far complete and expected to open yet this year. The signs just went up in the last two weeks. It is weird to think I'll never shop here...well, at least not on this trip!
How I'll miss the sight of the pickup trucks here...yes, this is as big as they get. Often times they are for construction companies and the back end is full of laborers! They can really pack them in!
Signs...oh, they make me smile. In the U.S. we'd say "All you can eat", but here they say "Eat-All-You-Can"....same message, different wording.
The sunrise yesterday was so beautiful...I know it's the same sun in Iowa, but have I stopped to really enjoy it?
My favorite shophouse owners. I have some really great things from ths shop! I will miss them. This man never misses an opportunity to educate you while you are there.
You never know what you will see when you are outside in Singapore. This man is on a three wheeled bicycle...two in the front (we'd have two in the back) and is carrying materials of some sort. He had a bell on his bike too and was using it a lot. Check out his hat!
