I hope I know enough....

This morning I woke up to a severe thunderstorm. I do not like thunderstorms at all. I waited around trying to figure out how to get to work without being soaked. It's not like in Iowa where I jump in my car in the garage and park in a parking garage and take the skywalk to the office. No here, you walk everywhere. I decided to take the shuttle to the office which takes at least an hour, but with the F1 Grand Prix Night Race in town this weekend it would probably take at least two hours to get there because of road closings. I jumped on the shuttle and so did two other people. One of them asked if the shuttle bus driver would drop us off at the train station (train takes about 12 minutes to get us to work) and he did! That was awesome. Then the train made us get off because they were taking the train out of service and we would have to wait for the next train (this rarely happens in Singapore!). Anyway, I finally got to work and realized today was the last day for Bobby. I got all scared as to whether or not I know enough to be on my own! I know my training in Des Moines was intense, and I've been doing most things for the last two weeks, I'm just nervous because I'm not the subject matter expert in Singapore! Bobby assured me I'd be just fine, and I am sure I will, it was just a moment of panic today.

The rain stopped and tonight I took the train to another station, Dhoby Ghaut (pronounced Dobie Got) and wandered around in a mall like one you'd find in Iowa. I found two places to buy scrapbook things! Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And when I got home I did my ritual venture to the pool and swam some laps. I'm not sure what I'll be doing this weekend, but I'm thinking the Zoo and a movie are in line!

I also heard from my niece, Mandi, about their trip to Taiwan to pick up their precious daughter, Avery. It seems the lady that has to complete the final paperwork had an emergency today and had to leave. This lady, Amy, apparently had a loved one in a fatal car accident. Mandi and Eric are asking for people to pray for Amy and her family during this time. Thanks!
