Tomorrow is the day!

Tomorrow...is the day I leave for Singapore. Oh my! So much has been done leading up to this day and today I feel relief, excitement and some sadness. I am almost completely ready...just a few last minute details and then I'm off on a plane!!!! It is amazing to think that this time Friday I will be in another country to live for a while. The "good byes" are killing me (thus the sadness referred to above), but I knew they would. It's hard to remember as I'm hugging that loved one that I'm going on an adventure of a lifetime, and it's only for a short while. I am excited about the adventure. Yesterday the Human Resource Manager for the Asia region was in the Des Moines office and brought me some brochures on Singapore. The sights are amazing! There will be so much culture there to take in. I can hardly wait for that part of the adventure. My brother, Douglas, booked his flight yesterday and he will be coming to see me at the end of November. I am so thrilled to have that to look forward to. My niece, Mandi, and her husband, Eric, are adopting their second precious child from an orphanage in Taiwan and hopefully they will be going to get Avery, their daughter, in October. If all goes well, I hope to fly to Taiwan and see them and meet Avery while they are there. How awesome is that opportunity! The next 30 hours until departure will fly by (no pun intended) and I'll be off...stay tuned for another update.
