NEW AIR CONDITIONER

You know how sometimes you don't know that something isn't working exactly right, until it's different...well, welcome to my new air conditioner. I truly felt my air conditioner was working fine as I was able to get cooled off. A week or two ago I received a letter in my apartment from the management (they leave "official" letters for everything they communicate to you here) saying they would be working in my apartment this week installing a new air conditioner and they would clean up their mess daily.

So last night I came home to the first signs that they had been here....a whole in the wall by the thermostat and a HUGE hole in the ceiling.

Today I can tell they have done some more work in the ceiling, but the hole is still there. I'm sure hoping they are done soon!
But the best news...oh my gosh...is it cool in here! I had no idea my air conditioner wasn't working very well until the new one was installed. It's amazing how quickly it cools. I think this was all for my brother, Doug, who is coming for a stay and doesn't do heat very well. Well, brother, it's awesome and you'll really appreciate it!
I also talked to my friend, Shelly, in Iowa today and she shared with me how the colors are changing in the trees and how beautiful they are. I love the heat of summer, but fall has always been my favorite time in Iowa as I love the color changes, but I'll have to miss that this year and jsut have heat! I hope you are all enjoying the cooler weather there. Happy Fall!

I've also experienced something like this before. I thought my unit was doing well, then one day it just shut down. Yeah, regularly checking the air conditioning system can certainly prolong its life span.

I bet you got even more excited about the unit when you found out that it can be a lot better! It probably feels a lot like the time you just bought it a few weeks back!
