THE OFFICE

I realize it would seem obvious that I would have put pictures of the office on my blog a long, long time ago....but it's one of those automatic things...going into the office...and it just didn't dawn on me. So, here they are...finally!!!

This is the outside of the building I'm working in. It is called One Raffles Quay (pronounced 'key'). There are two towers. The one you are looking at is the North Tower. I work on the 19th floor. There are 50 floors in this tower. BIG!!!! Of course, every building is tall in Singapore!

When you get off the lift (we call them elevators) you see our front desk. The office is secure and to enter you have to pass your secure id card over a reader to open the door. If you are a visitor there is a button to push and someone will let you in.

There are only about 20 people in the office, so I'll show it all to you. this is one end.

This is ht eother end. Where you can see the sign for Principal Global Investors is the trading room. It is actually glassed off from everyone else.

This is the pantry (we'd call it a kitchen). Yes, that is a washing machine/dryer in the pantry, and a dishwasher, expresso/coffee (I think...don't quote me on that) machine, microwave, toaster oven and water dispenser....and of course, the refrigerator.

I took the following picture of our two traders, Debra and Corrine (left to right) and they didn't like it, so asked me to take a picture that was a bit further away...I did, but I didn't like it and so even though they are going to "fire me" (Corrine's favorite saying) on Monday for putting this one on here...here it is....aren't they just "being cute" (Debra's favorite saying). They are the two people I support in the office.

There are others, and I'll be getting pictures of them, probably at our Christmas party this month and put them on here. Hope you enjoy seeing where I'm working!
