I miss my brother so much....I guess I really got use to having him around to talk with, do things with, and just be around!!! I did find some laughter this weekend when he emailed me his experience of going back to "real life" in Colorado and what he "sees" now that he has gone from one country to another and back again...and I wanted to share it with you.
Doug writes....
It is very ugly here. Everything is dead. My lips are already chapped. I am so light headed from the altitude I feel sick. Everyone runs red lights here and honks at you for no reason. Everything is dirty. No one greets you when you go into a store and nobody is happy to see you there. No one has bowed. Stores do not have basements that lead to other parts of the city. We are very, very super dooper WHITE here. I miss Sing. I miss you and am bored out of my ever loving skin.
Life here in Singapore is much different than in the U.S. First, obviously, Singapore is a tropical island and so everything is so alive!!!! We rarely heard honking horns in Singapore...the cab drivers are very polite! This is a country that is very much into service....waiting on a visitor to a degreet hat you sometimes feel like royalty (the bowing...Doug loved the bowing!). I know "real life" in Iowa will be hard to adjust to also!!!
I miss you too Doug....can't wait to see you again...even if it has to be in the U.S. :)
