A VACATION TO IOWA!!!!!!!

Yes, I know that it sounds absurd that anyone would choose to go to Iowa for a vacation in January, but that is exactly what I am doing. I am going home for a much needed visit. I can't wait...I leave Singapore in 15 hours and 30 minutes and arrive in Des Moines in 39 hours and 32 minutes...but who is counting? Oh yeah, me!!!!

I've been preparing all week to head to Iowa. It seems really odd to be going on "vacation" to somewhere I usually live. I'm leaving a tropical 84 degrees to go to a balmy 12 degrees...hmmm...must be crazy!

Kai, my coworker in Singapore, arrived in Iowa on Sunday night. She's never seen snow. She lives in Singapore in the tropics. She said 'the wind was loud at her windows". Yep, she's in winter! I get to see her this weekend and can't wait to hear what her thoughts are of Iowa. I know how she feels going from your comfort zone to a country you know very little about. It takes some getting use to!

Anyway, the next pictures you will see will be of Iowa and no doubt, probably a few of SNOW!!! Odd that!!!
