I finally bit the bullet and purchased a ribeye tonight at the grocery store. Okay, so it was a really, really small one, but it was still a steak. I brought it home and realized I don't have my handy dandy gas grill to cook it on, so I cooked it in a frying pan. If I had to do that in Iowa I would think "gross", but since it was my only option and it was a steak, I gladly fried it up. It certainly was not good old Iowa corn fed beef, but it was somewhat tasty and it was nice to have some beef....only my second since coming to Singapore!
Today was my second Monday at work, and after traveling around by the train this weekend I apparently had gotten "too big for my own shoes" because after work when I got to the train station and a train was coming, I quickly hopped on it. I was so proud of myself for not even checking the chart that told you if you needed to get on the train on the left or on the right. Smugly I put my headphones on and started counting my stops...four and then I get off. So after the first stop there were very few people on the train, which is very odd at the hour I'm on the train....I took my headphones off and listened to the announcement for the next stop...yep, I was on the wrong train, headed in the wrong direction (sometimes life is just that way, isn't it). I wiped the smug look off my face, got off at the next stop and got on the right train (after checking the chart) and home I went. I bet I'll watch closely from now on!
