WHAT'S IN A NAME?

What's in a name....well, if you are going to every place you can find in Singapore trying to find a Milky Way candy bar, a name is very important because today I finally found one, but it wasn't called Milky Way, it was called MARS. Isn't that funny!!! I was so excited to find it!!!

And here's the funniest one....people here really have a problem understanding that my name is DEB. When I introduce myself I almost always get "huh?" and I find myself saying "Deborah" and then they reply "oh, okay". At work when I'm getting phone calls I answer the phone with "PGI, this is Deb" and every single time they say "May I talk to Debs". I just thought it was a funny accent, adding that "s" to the end of my name...until today. The receptionist put out a new phone list at work today and my name is listed as Debs. Apparently, and now that I think about it, I've not met anyone that has a "shortened" name like Deb instead of Deborah. Everyone just goes by their given name....often I've wondered why we do that anyway!

So, signing off is Debs with a Mars in her tummy!
