SINGAPORE FLYER AND CHINATOWN

The shopping mall at the corner from our apartment recently added a McDonald's
and has this bench outside with Ronald on it. Zac and I give directions according to
where you go from "Ronald"...it's quite cute. Anyway, Zac sat down beside Ronald
and I took his picture...notice Zac's eyes, he's looking at Ronald as if to say
"What in the world are you doing with your arm around me"....it was a silly night
when we took this picture! In my life long quest (okay, maybe not life long, but certainly of late)
to find signs that make me look twice...here are a few.
I liked this one because they really spelled it out....in pictures and in words.
Seriously "shoes" "plus" "hat" equals 2?????
Oh, wait, that's 1 + 1 that equals 2!!

In Iowa we certainly have signage for construction zones,

but I do not believe I've ever seen a sign apologizing for the inconvenience caused! We stop to have a donut the other night...yes, it had to be at night as donuts are NOT for breakfast here. The donuts all have cute names and sayings on them. Zac took this picture because it made him laugh.

We saw this sign at a restaurant in the basement of a mall (most "food courts" are in the basement of malls here). Since this saying has been my life saying, we thought we should have a picture for sure!
We walked around Chinatown the other night. Zac purchased some t-shirts about the "fines" they have here and even found a few things for Brittany. :)

This is one of the streets we walked down that had many street vendors. Zac really enjoyed Chinatown!

Here we are sitting down for a rest and took in the local drink, Tiger Beer. There was a breeze and it was a lovely evening to watch people.
Yesterday we had been at the pool and it was looking like it was going to rain, so we went back to the apartment. When we got there we looked out the window and could actually watch the storm coming our way. We are on the 26th floor, so it's a much different perspective up this high. Here's a picture that looks like fog but is actually the rain starting a ways away...and within minutes it was raining so hard we could not even see the buildings across from us.
Last night we went to the Singapore Flyer. It's the world's largest ferris wheel. However, you are only in a "capsule" with about 16 people and it takes 30 minutes to go all the way around. The view is amazing! Pictures were hard to get, but it was truly beautiful.
Again, the signage is everywhere...they are so POLITE!!!
As we were entering the area to get on the Singapore Flyer there was this column with this GR8 saying...I made Zac pose by it. From his cheesy smile you can tell he really didn't want me to take this picture.
Here's a picture of the flyer from the ground.
This is the "capsule" we were going to get on. Yes, Douglas, it is all lite in beautiful blue!
This picture was taken from inside the "capsule" and looking down towards the harbour.
I took this picture right after the one above...the white lights of the capsules light up and go off...kind of like when you are at a sporting event and do the wave...one side is up and one side is down...here, one side is lit up and one side is not. It was cool to watch.

Here's looking out over the city.
At the end there was this sign and we had our picture taken there. It was a fun experience!
